Second Opinons for Cosmetic Dentistry are Wise

Getting porcelain veneers is exciting, it has positively changed the lives of many people who were unhappy with their teeth.  It is a fee for service procedure as is most cosmetic dentistry treatment and not generally covered by insurance.  Second opinions regarding porcelain laminate veneers are strongly recommended as they are permanent.  To do about 8 veneers from an experienced and well tranied dentist you are looking at a minimum of about $10,000 up to about $20,000 ( the cost can vary from state to state but this is the approximate range)

Make sure you get your second opinion from a true cosmetic dentist.  Remember cosmetic dentistry is not a recognized specialty by the American Dental Association although many think it should be as just about everyone that has a dds or dmd calls themselves a cosmetic dentist.  The truth is not all dentists deliver the same result.  This is an elective procedure and dentists should be able to show a consumer why they would be a better choice for the procedure.

Get a second opinion even if you have to pay a nominal consultation fee of approx $50 - $100 it is peanuts in the long run  and is a smart decision for anyone getting dental veneers for their smile.
